“Jake was absolutely fantastic to work with! From the very first conversation on the phone I knew he would be the perfect choice to capture our wedding memories. He extremely professional, organized and creative. We love the photos from the day and would hire him again in a second!”

Hi, I'm Jake, and we're Two Oaks Photography. This is our story

I found my passion for photography in 2016 after seeing some photos a friend took of my first born son, Harvey. It was a simple photo of him sitting in the lawn. But there was something special about it, he was in his element. It was a shot you couldn't get with a phone, because as soon as he saw you getting close at that time he would run away, or run for the phone. I decided to purchase my first camera. It wasn't much, but it was enough to get my foot in the door. After posting several photos of my family, I was approached by an old friend whose photographer had bailed 4 days before the wedding. She asked if I had ever done it before, and if I was willing to try. I was hesitant but I had been wondering about how to get in the biz for a few months at that point, so I agreed. The following 4 days were spent watching hours upon hours of Youtube. It was the quickest way I could think of. My wife, Amanda, came with me to the wedding and for what we had, we knocked it out of the park. Most importantly, and the reason we decided to give it a real shot, was because we had fun! It was truly a pleasure getting to know the couple (my friends future daughter in-law), learning on the fly what its like to shoot a real wedding, and interacting with the guests. I quickly set up a portfolio, and started booking weddings immediately.

We've always decided we wanted to offer reasonably priced weddings. Meaning, we never want to compare our pricing with photographers in the area, but keep it as cheap as possible for the time, effort and investment we put in. I frequently catch myself when I think about raising prices, but I remember why I'm here. It's the people, the experience, the love of the couples that keep us here. It's an absolute blast, and we strive to make photos on the wedding day, or engagement, or whatever the shoot may be, comfortable, fun, and more of an enjoyable experience than a job. And trust me, some people find it to be a job taking photos, but we pride ourselves on changing that for them. At least with us.

With 2020 came videographraphy. We took on two lads, my brother Cody, and a young gentlemen, Jack. Both have been a blast to work with and we can't wait to see more of their work.

We're about the experience of the day. We've yet to have a couple feel uncomfortable, or feel like it was a chore to work with us. We have fun, we laugh, we joke, and I usually cry when couples say I do. Just a little bit, don't worry, I don't make a scene. We just love wedding days and helping to make them memorable.
